Some green suggestions
Want to do more for the environment? Why not:- ask your employer to let you work at home for one or more days a week
- visit online editions of newspapers rather than creating more dead tree press
- ask for documents to be sent to you electronically rather than in paper form
- scan any paper documents you receive
- if you are a subscriber to The Actuary magazine, why not ask them to stop sending you a paper copy, give you a reduced subscription and look at the online issue instead?

The CAP merger plan is off, the next steps are still unclear
Full details of the CAP merger plan vote results can be seen here, but it seems clear that the proposed plan cannot proceed from last night’s vote (at least not without a further vote by Institute members after changes) because … Continue reading

What future do you want for our profession: openness & transparency or excessive control?
If you’re at all unsure about the merger proposals, given that the changes proposed are irreversible, surely the only prudent thing to do is to vote AGAINST this particular merger proposal. (included in a link in an email today [sent … Continue reading
A catalogue of problems, which could have been avoided by relatively simple checks
