New polls set up on AP merger forum to try and find a way forward

I have just created some new polls on the AP merger forums, to jumpstart the process of finding a way forward which fully consults members:

- Faculty members (only please): would you accept voluntary transfer to the Institute?

- (Eligible Faculty members only please) Would you accept Institute of Actuaries as the merged body?

-  (Institute members who voted AGAINST only please): Which of these (choose 3) led you to vote AGAINST?

I added the following note at the top of each poll:

Note: I am creating this online poll off my own bat, but in the hope that Councils will either support it and encourage relevant members to vote in it, or will create a similar and better online poll of their own, in which case I will be happy for that poll to replace this one.  For the avoidance of doubt, I have no official status, but am simply a member of the profession with a keen interest in securing what I believe to be the best outcome for members of both bodies, whilst obeying what I believe are key principles of openness, transparency and the appropriate use of technology, in this case the use of these zero financial outlay online opinion polls.  If nothing else, I hope these polls will spark ideas amongst Council members and members as a whole.  Of course I hope they achieve much more than that, by being used, and thus providing a valuable opportunity for members to indicate their views, and for Councils to then take these into account.  I also want to explore (and illustrate) how much can be achieved simply by using technology and trusting and listening to members, without resorting to expensive use of consultants and holding lots of physical meetings which are also expensive because of the meeting and travel time costs involved.

Please help make the profession move to a situation where members are consulted more fully about important matters such as the next steps after yesterday’s failed merger vote by letting others know about these polls and voting in them yourself if you are eligible.  Thank you.
